I am trying to apply for an internship and I need your opinion regarding this motivation letter.
Thanks a lot for the great job you are doing.
All the best,
Dear Sir or Madame,
The reason for contacting you is my intent to apply for the internship position offered by your organization. I have learned about it during my work within organizations active in the field of migration. Currently, I am engaged in a Master Degree Programme at the University of .......... and I am specializing in the free movement of persons in Europe.
The enclosed resume highlights my qualifications and knowledge in migration related issues. As a civil servant at the .............., I was able to develop my analytical abilities, by analyzing laws and policies on migration, as well as drafting bilateral agreements, and later on by being involved in strategy planning activities of the NGO I worked in. The activity within the NGO allowed me to acquire organizational and good communication/presentation skills, through organizing conferences, seminars, acting as trainer during some of them and keeping contact with our partners. The knowledge obtained during my work/academic activities and my interests refer to counter-trafficking and rehabilitation of victims; visa policies; borders and borderlands; smuggling in migrants; labour migration and protection of migrants; migration and development; remittances. Additionally to my knowledge, I can offer other skills, such as ability to work under pressure; concise writing for different contexts; linguistic skills; working in teams and on my own initiative and dealing professionally with a wide range of people.
This internship would provide me with the ideal opportunity to have an insight of the .............activity and team, to work in a multi-cultural environment and to broaden my knowledge in migration field.
Thank you for your time and consideration. I hope to hear from you soon.
