Hello everybody.

Obama had the edge in terms of delegates, but the kerfuffle caused by the decisions of Florida and Michigan to ignore the Democratic National Committee and move

their primaries up in the cycle meant there was a lot of uncertainty about how those delegates would eventually be handled.

Would you please tell me what the above means?

What does "move their primaries up in the cycle" mean?

Thanks 🙏

To understand everything you posted, you would need to learn a tremendous amount on the American system of elections, and not even Americans are completely sure how it all works.

Nevertheless, "move their primaries up in the cycle" means "schedule their primary elections earlier in the year".

I don't know what the links you have sent doesn't work.

Does delegates mean representatives of each party in Senate?

Thanks 🙏

Jamal 1315I don't know what the links you have sent doesn't work.

It takes a little time for the English forums software to check that the links are OK before they become active.

In the meantime, if you highlight them, they should work. Click at the beginning of the link and drag your mouse to the end. Then try.

It's representatives of the party, but not in the Senate. The Senate consists of people who have already been elected in previous elections. The delegates are representatives who vote for the person from their party whom they wish to be put up for election.
