Director Alan Morgan's latest effort The Ticking Bomb is not worth the price of admission. Despite Bruce Burton's draw and plenty of highly charged chases and tense moments, the plot developed here is weak, and the supporting actors dull. The novel, not surprisingly, was far better, but the screenplay does not take advantage of its unusual plot twists. At least the title is right: one is too aware of the ticking of one's watch before leaving the theater, and that, all in all, is a bomb.

What does the reviewer NOT complain about?
(A) The acting
(B) The plot
(C) The price of admission
(D) The supporting actors

The given answer is (C), but I chose (A). Please help.

Well, you need to read a lot of English, in order to improve, Emotion: big smile because the reviewer said:

the supporting actors [were] dull

Sorry, I really don't understand your sense of humor. Seriously, please tell me what you tried to say and why you mentioned the supporting actors were dull. No offense.

Thank you.

It's not me, it's the reviewer who mentioned that the actors were dull (BAD). Then, how could you choose A? How could you say that he didn't complain about acting?
LCChang, I agree with you.

X
The Ticking Bomb is not worth the price of admission
X the plot developed here is weak
X and the supporting actors dull

So the only thing that the reviewer didn't complain about is (A) The acting.

All in all, I find this a confusing questionnaire.

A and D can be confused, at least (as he doesn't talk explicitly about all actors, but about the supporting actors), so perhaps I was too critical of the OP. Sorry.

I agree with you too.
It's a poor question.

In saying that the supporting actors were dull, he was, in my opinion, making a complaint about their acting. That one line covers both the supporting actors and the acting in the question's four possible answers. And the reviewer goes on at lenght at how bad the plot is, so that's covered. And then he also says it's not worth the price of admission, which seems a tacit complaint about that too. So I can see how you would think that he complains about all FOUR of the choices given.

However, "not worth the price of admission" is also an idiomatic phrase that means "it's bad." The movie could be free (no admission charge at all) and you can still use that phrase to just mean "bad."

Anyway, and here I agree with Marius, it's not well formulated... I mean, one should not ask a question asking "what has not been XXX"... That's silly!

Anyway, and here I agree with
