Hi,

I wrote this story and I need have it checked by a proficient speaker of English. Could someone please check it out and correct some mistakes on spelling, grammar, concord, etc.
Here's the story:

----

My brother and I are not just brothers; we’re more like friends. When we were young, we did many things together. We once build a ship of chairs and sheets, and imagined we were pirates. We had a large attic at home, which we used to build our ship, play with our trains and do some forbidden stuff. Of course, every child is sometimes disobedient to their parents. My brother and I once burned the mail, set a closet on fire and threw matches in a stack of old paper, which completely burned down. We had great parents, who punished us severely for such crimes. I’m glad they did that, even though I wasn’t really happy with being punished back then.
A few weeks ago, my brother got married to a girl whom I once dated. Three years ago, I went to the cinema with Irene, his wife, but that didn’t work out. I invited her for my birthday, where he met her. He immediately fell in love with her and for the next two weeks she came over to our place a lot. They then hook up with each other, which surprised my parents a lot. My brother hadn’t had a relationship with a girl since the day he was born, but he was happy with her. However, after about two months, they broke up. They had some really different opinions about life and faith, which didn’t work out. Irene then talked to a lot of people about faith and finally became a christian as well. The next year, they engaged, exactly on the same date as they hooked up with each other. Two years later, which was last March, they married and moved to Drachten, Friesland.
In the time they were planning their wedding, I though I was going to miss him a lot when he would move out. As I said, he was a great brother and friend to me. Fortunately, it wasn’t that bad at all. I visited him a couple of times after he got married, and saw the were both happier than ever. That made me happy has well, and I didn’t fell like ‘losing’ him at all, which I thought I would. I hope they live happily ever after!

My brother and I are not just brothers; we’re more like friends. When we were young, we did many things together. We once build(T) a ship of chairs and sheets, and imagined we were pirates. We had a large attic at home, which(WHERE WE BUILT) we used to build our ship, play(ED) with our trains and do(DID) some forbidden stuff.
I invited her for my birthday, where(THAT'S WHEN) he met her. He immediately fell in love with her and for the next two weeks she came over to our place a lot. They then hook(ED) up with each other, which surprised my parents a lot. My brother hadn’t had a relationship with a girl since the day he was born, but he was happy with her. However, after about two months, they broke up. They had some really different opinions about life and faith, which didn’t work out. Irene then talked to a lot of people about faith and finally became a christian as well. The next year, they (GOT) engaged, exactly on the same date as they hooked up with each other. Two years later, which was last March, they (GOT) married and moved to Drachten, Friesland.
In (DURING)/(WHILE THEY WERE...) the time they were planning their wedding, I though I was going to miss him a lot when he (MOVED) would move out. As I said, he was a great brother and friend to me. Fortunately, it wasn’t that bad at all (AS BAD AS I FEARED). I visited him (THEM?) a couple of times after he got married, and saw theY were both happier than ever. That made me happy has well, and I didn’t fell (FEEL I WAS LOSING...)like ‘losing’ him at all, which I thought I would. I hope they live happily ever after!
