I imagine there may be one case of applying this adjective to a male out of every 10,000 uses of the word, but for all practical purposes it applies only to females.

It can be applied to an androgynous male.

OK. (I had to look up "androgynous" just to be sure.)

Was Tyrone Power androgynous? Because that's the only example I found online (the pulchritudinous Tyrone Power).
