Hello,

I was wondering which is preferable:

"We observed intensity below 20 K at blip1 and blip2, while none was observed at blip3 OR blip4"

OR

"We observed intensity below 20 K at blip1 and blip2, while none was observed at blip3 AND blip4"

and why. I tip towards the former, but am having trouble convincing a non-native speaker, since I'm not sure what the general rule is.

Thank you very much!

The former is correct (though both are understandable): negative sentences take 'or'.

I don't like broccoli or brussels sprouts.
I enjoyed the party, but no one else was eating or drinking.
