2) Not until he got home did he call her.

Niether is incorrect, but they both sound "stuffy" to me, which is perhaps intended. In casual situations I would say "he didn't call her until after he got home".
--He did not realize he had left his wallet at work until he had arrived home.

I think this one is correct, but how about the one below?

--He did not realize he had left his wallet at work until he arrived home.

Do you have to use past perfect twice in this sentence?
