Hi
I am stuck..
Raghu is the second son of Rajesh.
Now how do I ask him which 'number' of son are you?? Sounds simple but there are also a few conditions.Emotion: smile

You cannot say: Are you your father's second son?(Don't use a number)
I would like the question to be put like:
Which number of son are you to your father?(Is this correct?)

Sorry about this condition, but I am trying to translate a sentence from my native language.I made several attempts but all are meaningless. Can you guys please help me out?

prajwalkrWhich number of son are you to your father?(Is this correct?)
No, it is not correct. English has no equivalent expression to other languages.
This has been discussed many times in the forums.
The best you can do is one of these:
  1. How many elder brothers does Raghu have?
  2. What is Raghu's position, by age, among his brothers?
  3. Which son of Rajesh is Raghu?
