Is it OK to use the phrase every morning with verbs in the past tense, as in the following sentence?

When I woke up every morning, I saw the beautiful world around me.

You can use every morning with a verb in any tense:

I had gone for a walk every morning before I moved to Rome.
I'll be taking a walk every morning next week.
I would take a walk every morning if I were more energetic.
I go / went on a long walk every morning.
