Consider the following paragraph:

"We had to send Ma'mat to fetch our food to the inn and when he took back the pottery vessels, they broke them on the ground so that no believer should be defiled by eating after kaffirs."

a) What does 'pottery vessels' encompass?

b) And does 'eating after' mean the same as 'eating WITH'?

Christine Christiea) What does 'pottery vessels' encompass?

All earthenware containers—bowls, cups, jugs, amphorae, etc.

Christine Christieb) And does 'eating after' mean the same as 'eating WITH'?

No. Once kaffirs have used pottery, it has been soiled by their unclean touch and becomes unfit for use by the believers in whatever religion teaches that nonsense.
