Hi, please help me.

My English reference book says it is possible to put an adverbial participle phrase between the subject and the predicate verb, or after or before the main clause,
For example,
①She, looking over Lake Victoria, stood on the shore.

②She stood on the shore(,) looking over Lake Victoria.
③Looking over Lake Victoria, she stood on the shore.
The reference book says all these sentences are correct and almost the same in meaning.
When I asked about it the other day, I was taught that type① was awkward.
Which is correct?

Type 1 is awkward in your case. It depends on the context.

King Louis, surveying this troops, assured himself again that the battle would be won.
