Hello everyone!

I need to form a noun phrase that would express that the accounting system in question can, among other things, monitor whether, how much and to what extent, the suppliers have drawn from the supplier credit(s). My suggestions are as follows, I'll be grategul for any advice or help:

(a) monitoring of supplier credit drawing(s?)
(b) monitoring of supplier credit draft(s?)

Someone (a non-native spealer of English like me) has just suggested:

(c) monitoring of drawing from credit by suppliers

...which sounds a bit cumbersome and unnatural to me.

Many thanks for any help in advance!

Best,

P.

...which sounds a bit cumbersome and unnatural to me. You are right.
'Monitoring whether, how much, and to what extent the suppliers have drawn from supplier credits is (just) one of the things the accounting system can do.'
You said that you wanted the noun phrase to express all those things, so it has to be that long.

But you can shorten it by removing the details. 'Monitoring supplier credit withdrawal is (just) one.........'
The above is similar to your suggestions.
Hi

I'm not sure that a word after "credit" is needed...

- Monitor of Supplier Credit

If not that, then maybe...

- Monitor of Supplier Credit Transactions

This is exactly what I need, since it is supposed to be only one of a long list of similar (grammatically simplified) items.

As the other items have the structure of monitoring of X, I wonder if I should change monitoring supplier credit withdrawal to monitoring of supplier credit withdrawal too to make it coherent with the rest of the list. What do you think?

Again, thank you very much for your advice!

Best,

P.

Thank you, Dave!

Are you also suggesting that monitoring should be replaced with monitor? I gather thus the gerund form monitoring is not correct, right?

1) "of" is not necessary. But if you want to use it, iit's not a big mistake.
2) What "rest of the list" do you mean?

Hi

"Monitoring" is fine, but "monitor", I think, does the same job

- The new web screen is a monitor of the client's transactions in the last month

Either is OK

Dave
"Monitor" is not correct in our situation
Hmm

Suppose you've got a program that receives and processes the suppliers' credit transactions. And then you've got a program that summarises all that and reports back to the user

I'd say that's a...

Monitor - A program that observes, supervises, or controls the activities of other programs

...which is the dictionary definition. But it's up to you...
