Hi guys,

please, what does it mean phrase "gone for" in the following context?

Context: It's again from that episode of Law and Order where the cops visited a father of that minor girl who got pregnant by the guy who is mentioned in the following sentence...

Mr. Vidal, thought you should know we just slapped(??? Issued?) a court order
on the father of your upcoming grandchild. (?) He's gone for a paternity test. (?)....What does this sentence mean?

Thanks a lot in advance...

'gone for' - gone to do something/get something.

He's gone for a job interview.

He's gone for some hay.

Great, thanks a lot Nona [Y]

As to that slapped, I'm not 100% sure whether it means 'release' / 'issue' ?
Does it?

thanks again for answer.
