Could you please polish this sentence:



"I have no problem walking 5 or 6km, but I soon realized that Paris WAS A CROSSROADS OF ROADS, and as tourist, I couldn't get to the hotel where I was staying on my own."



Note: I'm particularly interested in the phrase in capital letters. Does it sound good to say 'a crossroad of roads'?

Not really. 'a network of roads/streets' is the expected phrase. 'a maze of streets' also works.

(Bordeaux isn't much better. The same thing happened to me there. Emotion: smile )
