How to describe the diagram above? - My suggestion - planting plan.
Plant the crop at fixed a fix intervals and in a crisscross fashion ??
Why the plural intervals?

Do you say Bus 56 comes at [a 10 minute interval/ 10 minute intervals]?
Site Hint: Check out our list of pronunciation videos.
I would say:

The number 56 (bus) comes at 10 minute intervals.

There is a 10 minute interval between buses.
Great answer. It's very clear! Thanks, Optilang.

Hi,

The technical word for that is "quincunx " ... I don't think it's commonly used, though.
Webster dictionary1. An arrangement of things by fives in a square or a rectangle, one being placed at each corner and one in the middle; especially, such an arrangement of trees repeated indefinitely, so as to form a regular group with rows running in various directions.

Thanks anyway, Tanit. At least, I know there's a term for it. And perhaps, when I hear someone use it in the future, I won't be surprised.

I'll tell you a secret. We use a similar word (it's "quinconce" in Italian) and I found the pronunciation of our word difficult, too!
You could therefore call it a "quincuncial arrangement"...
