In your opinion, what are the important things that career changers need to consider to have sucessful new career?
Nowadays, people always look for better opportunities in working environment. They change their careers in short periods for different reasons. In my perspective, career changers should consider clearly the suitability of the new career together with some personal requirements.
First of all, one of the most nesscessary things that should be thought about before changing career is the suitability. Career changers may need to have knowledge about it. Careers that related to their major at the university or past experiences are ideal. It would be the best to join extra classes to get the basic skills and information for preparation. Moreover, people should try working as an intern in a company of the next career for a short period. This way could help them know whether changing career is a good choice. They can also check the suitability in by doing some quizes that can figure out matches rate between careers changers and the job.
Secondly, they should consider carefully about some of the personal requirements such as travel distance, working hours or income. It would be great if the new work place is in the walking distance. However, if there is a long distance which requires travelling back and forth, careers changers should think about the transportation, for example: public transport, driving car or parking availability. Furthermore, the working hours should be taken into account as it must allow employees to rest and take care of relatives. Flexible working hours or work from home jobs are smart choices for parents as they will have time for children. The optimal income should afford employees with the living cost and worth the effort.
