Topic: The line graph illustrates the proportion of total expenditure in a certain European country between 1960 and 2000.

The line chart represents how people in an certain European country spent money on 5 different categories such as food, leisure, clothing, transport and fuel/energy from 1960 to 2000.

Overall, there was an upward rend in the expenditure on transport while the reverse was true for other groups. It is also clear that the money people allocated to transport steadily ranked first despite the long domination demand for food.

Starting at just below 10% in 1960, the figure for transport rose up moderately until it exceeded the proportion of leisure in 1990, at just above 10% and food in 2000 at 15%. In contrast, the percentage of food declined considerably, from around 35% in 1960 to just below 15% in 2000.

When it comes to clothing and fuel/energy, the propertions were nearly the same, starting at 10% and 5% respectively and ended up at about 5%. As for the figure for leisure, it dipped slightly over the period at roughly 20% in 1960 to just above 10% in 2000.

There is no such thing as a line chart. There are bar charts, pie charts, eye charts, flow charts, Gantt charts and organization charts.

"represent" is not a good word choice.
