Topic: Nowadays, some employers think that formal academic qualifications are more important than life experience or personal qualities when they look for new employees. Why is it the case? Is it a positive or negative development?

In today's world, some job recruiters prioritise candidates with formal academic degrees than those have more hands-on experience or good personal traits. In this essay, I will look at some causes of this issue and I believe that this is totally a negative trend.

There are various reasons why formal qualifications are considered to be more essential than work experience. Firstly, applicants are equipped with in-depth knowledge and usefull skills which are neccessary for their future job. As a result, they may make a great contribution in oder to develop their company. Secondly, this trend may be an ideal way to save time for employer recruiters. Candidates who are non-qualified have to join in academic training courses so that they know how to work properly and effectively. Therefore, this saved time can be used in valuable ways.

However, I suppose that both academic and non-academic job hunters should have equally job opportunities. This os mainly because work experience gained from life may have many benefits in workplace. For example, people with more hands-on experiences and practical skills are likely to deal with difficult situations or with a strict guess easily than who just have a degree. In addition to this, personal qualities should be taken into account due to the fact that if employers choose a person who are dishonest or unscrupulous, it may pose a serious threat to the development of the company.

In conclusion, there are many factors why recruiters favour applicants with academic qualifications over those just have practical skills or good personalities and it seems to me that it would be a negative movement.
