The picture illustrates the different stages of a Monarch Butterfly.
In general, there are six main stages in the life cycle of a Monarch Butterfly, beginning when eggs are laid and ending with the adult butterfly.
At the first stage of the process, it can be seen that the Monarch Butterfy lays eggs on the leaves of a plant. Then, a larva emerges from the egg and begins to feed on the leaves. Next, the larva attaches itself to the plant.
During the fourth stage of the life style, the larva is transformed into a chrysalis, which is still attaches itself to the plant. Subsequently, a butterfly emerges from the chrysalis and begins to feed flowers. Lastly, the butterfly becomes an adult and then ready to lay eggs. The whole cycle is then ready to begin again.
