I just want to know what is the correct tense to write.

The fact that I am having a medical procedure today scares me. I'm looking at the date, that way if I died today, I would know what day I would have died.

You need a period or a semi-colon after date to avoid a run-on sentence. [Good luck with your procedure!]

I'd say; "... that way, if I died today, I would know what day I died on."

It's a cute sentence, but I'm not sure if your logic works well.Emotion: geeked

Where I live, people usually say "I am having an operation'.

Oops. I was concentrating on the tenses, and didn't spot the infelicity of 'I'm having a medical procedure'. Emotion: embarrassed
Hi Five
For you is it medical procedure or operation like Clive said?

Hi Clive,
What tense would you say?
