Reported Speech: Affirmative Sentences



Grammar Notes



To report what someone said in the past we can use the verb said or told.



To report affirmative sentences the conjunction that introduces the noun clause.



A noun clause is a group of words containing at least a subject and a verb.



EXAMPLE:





Direct Speech



I’m sorry, the old lady said.

The old lady said,I’m sorry.
