Hi, Teachers my apology from beginning for such a long post with 26 questions at one go but I need your help to resolve this.

There are 26 questions with 100 marks and after giving the test in computer my score was 90.

I am guessing the 1st one is not correct. But apart from that rest all 25 answers seems correct to me as per different response from different teachers from this forum or from internet.

I am not sure that even if the 1st one is wrong, then also it will carry 10 marks to bring it down from 100 to 90. There must be another 1 or 2 answers which are not correct and I am not able to find it out.

I think that some are looking for a blank fill-in while others are looking for picking out the error. Try not to mix up the two types of questions here.
Hi Philip, yes you are correct. I am sorry to mentioned in beginning.

There are only 2 types. one is fill in the blank and other is picking the wrong portion in the sentence. The wrong portions have been given in multiple choice where only 1 is correct.

Please help.
Students: Are you brave enough to let our tutors analyse your pronunciation?

amit82: I am guessing the 1st one is not correct.
I would write: neither do I (D)
amit82,
As Philip suggested, it will be much easier for us to help you if you would keep the questions types separated. I personally had issues with # 1, 5 , 9, 18, 21, 22. I sensed a hint of awkward construction in the phrasing of the question. i.e. I quit to smoke .... is not natural at all. And I have no clue what you want on #18:
18.I really look forward for studying Japanese to prepare
for my trip to Tokyo.
(A) look forward
(B) for studying
(C) to prepare
(D) for my trip

Thanks Dim for your reply. Yes the 1st one is wrong and it should be as you have mentioned.

So 25 out of 26 are correct but still the score is 90 out of 100. Its hard to believe that 1 question is 10 marks where other 25 just 90.

So, I am afraid if there is any I have answered incorrect, which I am not able to catch it.

If you can please help with my answers with rest 25 to find out which are potentially wrong answers.

I think we have identified correct choices for all. I cannot attempt to explain the scoring system. I feel compelled to mention that I find it a very poor practice to give incorrect sentences to a student trying to learn a new language. It is difficult enough to learn, using correct forms, without having to sort intentionally incorrect forms. Fill-ins are a much better method of learning (and even testing is supposed to be part of the learning process).
