In the future, nobody will buy printed newspapers or books because they will be able to read everything they want online without paying.
To what extent do you agree or disagree with this statement?
It is believed that everyone is not likely to purchase print books or newspapers because they are free to read online. I completely disagree with this point of view.
In my opinion, it is absurd to argue that either printed newspapers or books have no place in the future due to the development of E-book. I do not believe that reading online will totally change a habit of traditional reading, and there is nothing special about online books or that means we will eliminate the existence of printed ones. Furthermore, there is no compelling reason why those print books will be disappeared. We could not predict that print books will not be consumed because there is a greater demand for reading newspapers. For instance, my parents would like to read print books because of the fact that they find it hard in using computers or phones to read E-books.
I also disagree with the idea that newspapers and books are able to read online in the future. It is easy to seek kinds of books and newspapers on the internet, but these are still charged by authors. For example, the New York times still charges readers when they read over three pages. This is justifiable because publishers need money to pay for the journalists’ wages. If E-books and magazines are free to be read, the salary for those who work in this field will be relatively low and the journalism industry is hard to develop.
In conclusion, we should not predict whether or not newspapers or print books will not be bought and all E-book and online newspapers are free to read, and I believe that printed ones are still being developed and E-books are charged in the future.
