Topic: Write an essay to discuss the effects of air pollution on people and the environment and suggest possible measures to deal with this problem.
My answer:
Air pollution has become an integral part of the rising debate in Viet Nam, especially in urban cities where there are often pollutants from transportation, heating systems, or power production. Not only does this phenomenon pose a threat to local places but also many other places far away. This essay will point out some health issues and environmental impacts it has caused and suggest feasible solutions to tackle these problems.
To commence with, emissions from the production of energy and road transport can lead people to go down with diseases related to the respiratory system and enhance climate change. A high volume of autos on the road can create a massive build-up of toxic emissions, contaminating the air and damaging our living conditions. As a result, people may suffer many health issues like respiratory and cardiovascular disease, which will shorten their life expectancy. In terms of the environment, air pollution can promote the seriousness of climate change as it brings about tons of greenhouse gas emissions. Therefore, the Earth’s temperature becomes warmer, expanding the range of pathogens. Consequently, the flora and fauna may die out or be on the verge of extinction, threatening the stability of ecosystems.
To alleviate the negative mentioned-above influences, the government should impose high taxes on private vehicles to reduce the number of transportation on the road. Only in this way can people be encouraged to use public transport, therefore, the amount of carbon dioxide emitted into the air will be decreased. Additionally, the government can implement a pollution threshold for factories and hand out harsh punishment for companies that violate the permitted cap. Thus, industrial companies will take necessary measures to reduce their waste.
All in all, the discharge of harmful emissions can result in the rising possibility of people having severe illnesses, the increasing risk of global warming, and the destabilization of ecosystems. To handle these problems, the government had better tax heavily on cars and motorbikes and put limits on the number of pollutants and establish punishment for factories in case they act against it.
