It is a natural process for animal species to become extinct (e.g. Dinosaur, dodos …) There is no reason why people should try to prevent this from happening. Do you agree or disagree?
Some people claim that it is no use alleviating problems associated with animals' extinction since this is a natural phenomenon. From my perspective, there is little to agree with this statement because a great number of species have been faced with death due to humans’ influence.
Granted, mass killing of animals to exploit them for several functions seemingly ubiquitous around the world. In fact, there are numerous resources which report misleading information with regard to the benefits of making use of animals’ body parts. Such data are likely to lead to many people’s beliefs in their advantages and probably increase the rate of capturing and poaching species to sell in markets with outrageous costs. For example, rhino horns are generally believed to be a panacea for debilitating diseases while there is empirical evidence that they produce the exact same protein as a human’s fingernails. This adversely results in trafficking of them on a massive scale and has pushed this species on the verge of extinction.
To add further credence to my assertion, I must note that humans also encroach wild land that destroys natural habitat and food sources of animals. On these contemporary days, given the rising population, people are in high demand for the construction of many public facilities such as hospitals, schools, and accommodation. Take, for instance, agriculture. In this sector, fields must be expanded to cultivate crops to meet the growing demand of overpopulation. Therefore, they require more land from forests and the ecosystem, where most animals reside. This undoubtedly renders animals lose their home and their food chains, which endangers the majority of them.
In conclusion, I am of the opinion that humans should be held accountable for the extinction of most endangered animals and seek measures to sustain these species’ lives due to their hunting and deforestation.
