Some people believe that no one should do the same job for all their working life. Other argue that doing the same jobs brings advantages for individuals, companies, and society. Discuss both views and give your opinion.
It is argued that some people hold the view that no one should be in the same job throughout their life; others, however, support that it is good to change careers from time to time. My view is that it should be an individual's choice what they want to do in their lives.
First, the main advantage of staying all the life in the same job is getting experience. Hence, they get used to completing the tasks and be easier to find effective solutions to occupational problems. And of course, these workers get a better opportunity of gaining promotions than the others. For example, most managers of companies are the long-term employees.
It is obvious that a person gets high prestige in that career field when one does this job for a long time. It also means that the job security is provided. For instance, in Vietnam, with a social demand for international integration, there are more and more English teachers. However, not everyone can earn their livelihood, but a small number of skilled and prestigious can be successful.
On the other hand, staying in the same job also means they won’t have a chance to experience something new, so they can’t broaden their horizon. This easily leads to the phenomenon that they can’t get out of their comfort areas. In addition, doing the same job day after day often leads to boredom. As a result, they will gradually get bored of going to work and can not contribute fully as they did. And those are the reasons more and more people choose to switch over to another job after a certain period.
In conclusion, I believe both views are having their own pros and cons so staying in the same job throughout the life or not depends on an individual's mind.
