Please review my essay. Thank you in advance

I called to tell you that the meeting that was cancelled on Tuesday has now been reinstated. I don’t know why they've decided to do so, but I think it's because of the backlash from their oppositions. I have heard reports that suggest they have been spreading negative rumours about their campaign, and which is why that have recalled the meeting. The oppositions are trying to tarnish their reputation so that they can win majority of the seats in rural and urban areas.

I’ve heard from their supports that if they don’t give them money, they won't vote for them because they are tired of their unfulfilled promises. I don’t know the purpose of the meeting, but I believe it will be about the political tension between the parties. Also, the infighting among party members and to rebuild trust with their voters.

The party has been criticised over the past year of wrongdoing, but they have not held themselves accountable. They still think that they can win the upcoming elections because their oppositions have no strategies in place to redeem the country from its current economic turmoil. Their leaders have no governance experience and lack in so many areas.

I read an article in a newspaper that stated the country was the poorest in the world. The article also mentioned about its GDP, and how their infant mortality rate was the highest in West Africa. The country had going through civil wars and as a result a lot of people perished their lives. The economy is still crumbling, and people are suffering. There are no basic necessities for people in the country. The crime rate is high, and children are dying of malnutrition. The government keeps borrowing money from World bank to spend on infrastructure, which is not helping its economy.

I wouldn't call this an essay. It doesn't seem to address a clearly expressed topic in a generalized way.

It's more like a note you have written to someone.

I'll mark in bold some parts you should review.
