I have ordered one from a person through Amazon. But I have not received the book. I would like to cancel the order. Please suggest, if there is a better way of this.

It has been more than two weeks, since I placed the order. As per the order, I should have received the book by 27-July. It has been more than 3 days, after the due date for delivery and I still haven’t received the book. I have spent considerable time tracing the book, but unfortunately I could not trace the book.

Since the due date is over and I have not received the book, could you cancel the order and refund my amount?

You have not said what book you have ordered. That is the first thing that you should tell them.
If you order from Amazon, there is an order number on your account - that is the next thing you should tell them.
You need to ask them if the book is in fact available.

Although, I ordered the book from Amazon, the seller is not Amazon, but some private person, who has listed his book on Amazon -Use Books section.

Could you advised if the structure/sentences are correct and if there is any scope for further improvements?

Did you receive a confimation of your order? Or confirmation that the book had been sent.

If so, email to the vendor with the name of the book, the author, the date of your order, the order number and the date of the confirmation. Say you need to know if the book has been sent. If it has not been sent, you require the vendor to cancel the order and refund your payment.

With reference to my order for a copy of xxxxxx by xxxxx, made on xxxxxxx.[If you had confirmation, state so here] It has been more than two weeks since I placed the order. The book should have arrived by 27th July. It is now xxx days after the due date for delivery and I still haven’t received the book.

Please confirm immediately that the book was despatched, and by which method. If I do not hear from you in the next 24 hours, I wish you to concel the order and refund my payment.

If you get no reply, contact Amazon and report the vendor as failing to supply goods as advertised in their second hand books and ask them what they propose to do about it.
