Please refer to the following article "Lifting the Screen" on cancer screening.
http://www.disease-information.com/archive/index.php/t-3551.html

I have decided that the title is written as a metaphor, i.e. I would interpret it as "Revealing the Screening Mystery" for translation into Chinese. Would you agree with my interpretation? If not, would you suggest I interpret it literally as "Lifting the Screening Standard" into the Chinese equivalence?
Thanks for your help.

How about "Understanding" the Screening Standard? Comprehending? Explaining?

Im not sure if it could be translated into Chinese but maybe, De - mystifying?
"The Tao of Screening Standards"? or some other less exalted word in Chinese but still meaning 'way' or perhaps, practice as in the practice of...
A layman's guide to...or explanation of screening standards?

What you need to know about...?
A different view of..?
Another opinion on...?
Debating the ..?
As i have no knowledge of the Chinese language i can completely understand dismissing the above suggestions 'out of hand' and if so there will be no 'laughing up my sleeve' for anyone choosing to do so.

I agree with you about the title being written as a sort of metaphor.

There is a standard phrase "Lift the Veil" or "Lifting the Veil". It means to remove a cover from something so that it can be seen.

"Lifting the Screen" seems like a variation of that phrase. The idea is that the facts about cancer screening are hidden under a screen, and that the article will remove the screen to reveal the facts.

I think there may also be a pun there, referring to lifting (=raising) the standards of screening.

Gentlemen, thank you very much for your very prompt and helpful suggestions particularly from Joseph Littleshoes and Peter Duncanson.. I was right, the author, Alison McCook meant the title to be metaphorical. I just received an email confirmation from her.
Have a nice day.
