the bar charts show the number of people getting married and divorced in the USA (missing description) from 1970 to 2000 and the marital status of adult (wrong form ) in America during (wrong word) the same period.

Overall, the figure (wrong word) for marriages decreased slightly but it was still higher than divorces in the USA. (You do not need to repeat this.) Status of marital to adult Americans had been commonly given to marry by 2000.(I don't understand this sentence.)

Exactly 2.5 millions of people got married which reached a highest point in 1970 (improper relative clause) while the number of divorced Americans only achieved (wrong word) exactly at 1 millions. (wrong form) American people who got married saw a slowly decline to 2 millions in 2000, lower than in 1970. Compared to divorced people, the figure (wrong word ) for this fluctuated stably (wrong words ) in the period from 1970 to 2000 and then remain (wrong form) constanly (wrong form) to (wrong word ) exactly 1 millions (wrong form) in 2000.

From (wrong word ) 1970 and 2000, people (missing word) got (wrong word ) married got (wrong word ) the highest point at 70 % and decreased trivially (wrong word ) by 10 %. In the last paragraph - sentence 1 , I thought that I can use "people got married " because it's in the past? And in the overview " overall , the figure for.." , if I can't use the word " figure " , which one should i replace ?

Thank you so much for helping me 💓

Hương Đào I thought that I can use "people got married " because it's in the past?

"Got married" means that the bride and groom had a wedding ceremony. That is not what chart 2 shows.

Chart 2 shows marital status. It does not show when the people got married.

From 1970 and 2000, people got married got the highest point at 70 % and decreased trivially by 10 %.

Here are two different versions:

Between 1970 and 2000, the percentage of people who were married declined by 10%. The values were 70% and 60% respectively.

Between 1970 and 2000, the proportion of the of the adult population with the marital status of "married" declined by 10%. The values were 70% and 60% respectively.

Hương Đào" overall , the figure for.." , if I can't use the word " figure " , which one should i replace ?

"Figure" is mainly used in finance and business reporting. And it is mainly used in the plural form:

e.g. "The sales figures for the last quarter were 10% higher than the same quarter in the previous year."

In the context of graphs and charts, "figure" is used to refer to the illustrations: e.g. "As can be seen in Figure 23,"...

Overall, the figure for marriages decreased slightly but it was still higher than divorces in the USA. Status of marital to adult Americans had been commonly given to marry by 2000.

Overall, the number of marriages, which decreased 20% (2.5 million to 2 million), were consistently higher than the corresponding number of divorces during the period. The proportion of the adult population who were married decreased by 14% (70% to 60%).

Oh thank you so much 💓 now I understand 😁
