Dear,

I would like to write a letter to apply marriage and honeymoon leave on end of this year.

I planed to apply 20 days leave and go for honeymoon. My challenge is to convince my Project Manager to approve it. I hope that their can exclude me from the schedule on end of this year dual to my personal plan. I have listed down reason in sample as below. Please advice and help me to improve it.

Hi All,

I am glad to inform you that my marriage had been fixed on the 29th of October, 2006. Hence I kindly request you to grant me 2 days leave on 20th and 23rd of October for attending my wedding dinner in my home town.

One week later after wedding dinner held in my home town, I kindly request you to grant me another 3 days leave on 27th, 30th and 31st of October, 2006 for attending my wedding ceremony in my husband home town.

Beside that, I would like to request for 20 days annual leave on end of this year for my honeymoon trip. Honeymoon trip is important to my husband and me. My husband study in England before and he wanted to bring me there. So we decided to have a trip to Europe since last year.

We dated for more then 5 years and decided to get marriage on last year. Most of the time I’m working in oversea on last few years and we only meet for 4 days in a month. He never complaint and pay for full support on my career. I wish you are understand and I don’t want to break my husband dream.

Thank you for your attention.

Regards,

Look forward for you reply.

Thank you.

Dear Mr BBB (your Project Manager):

I am glad to inform you that my marriage has been arranged for the 29th of October, 2006. Hence, I would like to request that you grant me two days' leave on the 20th and 23rd of October in order that I may attend our wedding dinner in my home town (add name of town) and another three days' leave on the 27th, 30th and 31st of October, 2006 to attend our wedding ceremony in my husband's home town (add name of town).

I would also like to request 20 days' annual leave at the end of this year for my honeymoon, which is important to my husband and me. My husband previously studied in England, and he wishes very much to take me there. For the last few years, I have been working overseas, and we have been able to meet for only four days a month. He has never complained, and fully supported my career financially. I hope you will understand that I don’t want to disappoint my new husband in his dream.

Thank you very much for your consideration of my request. I am looking forward to your reply.

Respectfully yours,

That would depend on the laws and custom in your country. Do you want to give them leave? Are they legally entitled to take this leave? If not, then it is up to you whether you let them go or not.

In my country (UK) everyone is entitled to a certain number of paid leave days a year, but what they use them for is irrelevant, they don't get any extra for getting married. They can also only request to take them on certain dates. It seems that marriage leave is part of Indian culture though as we get a lot of enquiries about it. I'd ask other business owners near you for advice.
