Hello Zara,

It's hard to tell you briefly how to improve your English. You say that you are learning from books. Are these grammar books? It would be better to go also to a good grammar class. Perhaps you are doing that already? It's a good idea to read English books that are not grammar books. it helps to get English 'into your head'. If possible, it would be good for you to speak English with native speakers. Do you have any chance to do that?

Get rid of - If I throw something into the garbage, I get rid of it. If I get rid of something, it means I no longer have it.

As far as I'm concerned - As far as I'm concerned, it's OK. This means I think it's OK, but other people may have other opinions.

Right away - I'll call him right away means I'll call him immediately.

Write again if you have any more questions, and we will try to help you.

Best wishes, Clive

Hi again, Zara,

Grammar is important, but don't worry about it every day so much that it makes you unhappy. Just learn a little bit, everyday. The Past Tense is a good place to start, because we talk about the past a lot.

Why don't you try to write some past tense sentences, and post them here? Then we can help you with them.

Your friend, Clive
Yes Clive ,

This is my sentences

Tomy said he had bought a new care .

I went to the new cafe yesterday and I've drunk a nice coffee or I went to the new cafe yesterday and I had a nice coffee .

I met tom in morining and he was asking about the money u lent from him .

Rosy was asking u to go out with her to the station . or Rosy was asking u to come with her to the station .

Tony went to the party that night and got car accident . Tony has gone to the party and had car accident .

Please correct my sentences Clive I've tried as much as I could .

Plus its going to take awhile....as long as you dont give up. I will send you speech's after you reply to my offer. Oh...plus I wont charge you...I am a volunteer. So dont worryEmotion: big smile.

Hope to here from you soon,

Hi again,

Tomy said he had bought a new car . OK

I went to the new cafe yesterday and I've drunk a nice coffee No or I went to the new cafe yesterday and I had a nice coffee .Yes, very good.

I met Tom in the morning and he was asking about the money you borrowed from him .

Rosy was asking you to go out with her to the station . or Rosy was asking u to come with her to the station . Both are OK

Tony went to the party that night and had a car accident . Tony has gone to the party and had car accident . No. Say it the first way.

Your past tense is not bad. You just have the wrong verb sometimes, eg 'have an accident, not 'get an accident'.

Do you want to try a few more sentences?

Clive
when writting me try to do your best....I will teach you proper grammer.
I hope you don't intend to teach spelling too, Janice.
Dear ,

I can’t use ‘had been’ nicely is that express past too ?

I don’t know right or worng but I’ve made these sentences

Is that – HAD BEEN +V3 ?

1. Rosy had been rejected from school coz she was so naughty.

2. I’ve been to KL for the vacation.

3. Have u been to ? Or Have u ever been to ?

4. I was been so silly to him. Or I have been so silly to him.

5. I was been in comer for years .
