Hello,

can we use the words 'evoke', 'enchant' and 'attract" in progessive tenses?

For example, describing a photo, can I say:

1) "This photo is evoking feelings of sadness and helplessness in me"

Or should I say:

2) "This photo evokes a feeling of sadness in me"

3) Her beauty is enchanting me.

4) Her beauty enchants me.

5) Her eyes attract/are attracting my attention.

I also have a question concerning articles:

6)"I would like to quote an/the example of my aunt, who is a doctor"

Thanks in advance for your help!

You can use those words in the progressive form, althought the examples you give aren't the best. If it is a general statement then use the present simple therefore sentence 2 is better than sentence one.

Sentence 3 you don't need me at the end. 4 & 5 are fine.

Hi,

I also have a question concerning articles:

6)"I would like to quote an/the example of my aunt, who is a doctor"

Say 'the'. Your aunt is a specific example.
