This sentence came across:

"That way you can work on different parts of the house as opposed to being overly ambitious and do everything at one go."

Should the do be continuous or as it is? Feels right the way it is right now but I'm doubting myself. Is it right or wrong? And what's the grammatical reason?

Thanks!

It should be "doing" to match "being" within the prepositional phrase.
