A little over 3 weeks ago, I said goodbye to an important person in my life. He was a great man with character and values. I really want to take this time to thank my FAMILY, my FRIENDS, for the ABC team and DEF for all the love and support you've shown throughout – really appreciate it!

for here is ungrammatical.

Using capitals like this is not standard English.

The dash is OK in casual English.

I think you mean this.

What's the connection between the first two sentences and the rest of your text?

ABC and DEF are company names I don't want to disclose

First sentence it to honor the person who died, and the second is to thank the people who support during that time.

I would use "take this opportunity" instead of "take this time".

thank you!
