Hi.

What's the difference between

My king will prove quite useful for this purpose.

and

It will be proved that my king is quite useful for this purpose.

?Thanks in advance

In the first sentence, "prove" means "turn out to be". In the second sentence, the meaning seems more like "demonstrate to be true" (i.e., the truth of "my king is quite useful for this purpose" will be demonstrated). The first sentence seems more likely. In any case, if you want the first meaning then I don't recommend the second sentence as an alternative.

The second hardly makes sense.
