Hi
I have a question on this sentence.
Please invite Daniel's parents, Richard, and Ann for the meeting.
Here I refer to altogether four people—Daniel's parents (2) and the other two.
But, how can I punctuate the sentence when I mention the names of Daniel's parents along with Richard and Ann?
Please give your views.
Suresh
eg Please invite Richard, Ann, and Daniel's parents (Tom and Mary), to the meeting.
eg Please invite Richard, Ann, and Daniel's parents Tom and Mary, to the meeting.

You are not restricted to a single sentence or a list format. Write it in such a way that the meaning is clear, whatever it takes. All the examples we see of ambiguity created by commas or lack thereof are artificial. There is always a remedy.
Thank you. Clive.
Got it. Thank you, anon.
