Dear all,
I would like to know whether the following expressions are idiomatic and used in daily conversation by native speakers.
1) When will you be done at work?
2) What time are you done at work?
3) I am done
4) I am through.
Thank you.
I don't like #2, but the rest are fine.
cat navy 4251) When will you be done at work?
This is not familiar in the UK. People usually ask someone when will you finish work?
cat navy 4252) What time are you done at work?
This is also unfamiliar. It's usual to replace the yellow part with will you finish.
