Hi, one of my friends told me that he and his wife have a happy life and he is proud of leading a sustaining marriage(nearly 30 years). He said, to some extend, their belief helped make their marriage strong, because the religion they hold ask them never to get divorced. I would love to know what religion asks people to be loyal to the loved one for the rest of one's life. Look forward to your notes. Thanks!
Hi there
it is great if this couple is still together after 30 years, but i don't think religion is the only key for a long and happy marriage. Actually, most of the couples I know and who have been together for at least 2 decades don't integrate religion in their way of life, and they are still happy and strong couples. And i would also want to add that people can be loyal, honest and sincere to each other without believing in a specifc religion.
Anyway, you're right, it is interesting to wonder about the influence of religion in couples.
Hope other mails will answer your interrogations!!
Bye!!
The Christian religion is certainly very strong against divorce. The bible gives infidelity as the only reason a couple can divorce. Yet, church going Christians have a divorce rate as high as the rest of society. So I would say that it has more to do with the couple involved and their personal strength of commitment than anything else.

I'm no expert on this, but I think that specifically the Catholic Church does not allow divorce.
