Peter introduced me to Jack who said he was pleased to meet me. I replied that it was my pleasure, and that I hoped Jack was enjoying his stay in Seattle. He said he thought Seattle was a beautiful city, but that it rained too much. He said that he had been staying at the Bayview Hotel for three weeks, and that it hadn't stopped raining since he had arrived. Of course, he said, this wouldn't have surprised him if it hadn't been July! Peter replied cheekily that he should have brought warmer clothes. Peter asked Jack what his holiday plans were and where he is going next. Jack said that he was going to fly to Hawaii the following week, and he that he couldn't wait to enjoy some sunny weather. Both Peter and I said that Jack was a lucky person indeed. Jack thanked us and excused himself for another appointment before walking back to the hotel.

I am supposed to change the text above to direct speech. The following is what i have done.I can't use "said" for the reporting verb.

Peter introduced me to Jack who said, "I am pleased to meet you." I replied, "It is my pleasure, and I hope you are enjoying your stay in Seattle." "Seattle is a beautiful island, but it rains too much," commented Jack. He added, "I have been staying at the Bayview Hotel for three weeks, and it hasn't stopped raining since I have arrived." Peter advised cheekily, "You should have brought a raincoat." Peter asked Jack," What are your holidays plans and where are you going next?" Jack answered," I am going to fly to Dubai next week, and I can't wait to enjoy some sunny weather." Both Peter and I told Obama," You are a lucky person indeed." "Thank you, I have to excuse myself for another appointment," responded Jack.

Is this right? Are there any mistakes?

Hi,

I am supposed to change the text above to direct speech. The following is what i have done.I can't use "said" for the reporting verb.

Peter introduced me to Jack who said (?), "I am pleased to meet you." I replied, "It is my pleasure, and I hope you are enjoying your stay in Seattle." "I think Seattle is a beautiful island, but it rains too much," commented Jack. He added, "I have been staying at the Bayview Hotel for three weeks, and it hasn't stopped raining since I have arrived." Peter replied advised cheekily, "You should have brought warmer clothes a raincoat." Peter asked Jack," What are your holidays plans and where are you going next?" Jack answered," I am going to fly to Hawaii Dubai next week, and I can't wait to enjoy some sunny weather." Both Peter and I told Jack Obama," You are a lucky person indeed." "Thank you, I have to excuse myself for another appointment," responded Jack, before walking back to the hotel.

Best wishes, Clive

OK

Of course, he said, this wouldn't have surprised him if it hadn't been July! Peter replied that he should have brought warmer clothes. He then continued by saying that he was going to fly to Hawaii the following week, and he that he couldn't wait to enjoy some sunny weather. Both Jack and I commented that Peter was a lucky person indeed.
