  • explain why you are writing

  • inform the landlord of possible legal action

You should write at least 150 words.

You do NOT need to write and addresses.

Begin your letter as follows:

Dear ...,

----------

Dear Sir or Madam,

I rented your apartment. When I left the apartment in good condition, the apartment was very great for work and living.

I came back my hometown on November 10th, 2020. What troubled me was the time of the flight. As you know, according to the flight schedule, the plane took off at 10:00 am, but there was a notification that the flight had to delay for two hours. I went home at 10:00 pm, it was later than my plan. While I was recalling of your apartment, suddenly, I remembered I paid a refundable deposit when I rented your apartment, but you had not returned my deposit.

Preferably, you should consider to pay back my deposit in the next week. I suggest that you send me as soon as possible. I think I could rent your apartment in next trip.

Thank you for your attention.

Yours faithfully,

To Luc

Dear Seman,

I rented your apartment and paid the refundable £800 deposit. Now I write a letter to suggest you returning it.

The contract of me and you was signed on January 20, 2020. It was written "When the Renter returns the apartment in good conditions, the Landlord must have responsibility to pay back the deposit to the Renter". You should follow the contract, if not, I will prosecute you to the law. The Court of Law definitely returns me fair. You can send me the money in two ways. The first way, you transfer me by the account number on the contract. The second way, you sent it to me by post. In these two ways, the first is faster than the second because I could receive instantly.

I do hope when you get this letter, you will instantly take the refundable deposit to me. If not, we will meet in Court.

Looking forward to your transfer.

Thank you for your attention.

Yours faithfully,

[ 1]: I don’t understand what “Seman” means. Let’s say for example that your landlord’s name is Jack Smith. Then you would address him as “Dear Mr Smith,”.
