I write to express my interest in applying for Masters Program in Environmental Management at the Pan African University of life and Earth Sciences Institute (including Health and Agriculture), University of Ibadan, Ibadan Nigeria.
I graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture from the Prestigious Obafemi Awolowo University Ile-Ife, Osun State, Nigeria. I finished as the Second Best Graduating Student in my Department with a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 4.27/5.00.
During my undergraduate studies, I started paying more attention to environmental science. Although, I had a distinction in Geography in my West African Examination Council (WAEC) Result.
I had distinctions in environmental courses such as Agroclimatology, Agroforestry, Fisheries and Wildlife, Soil and Water Management etc. I also undertook environmental related special electives such as Man and his physical environment, Issues in Land Use and Management, Fundamentals of Building and Design for Human Habitation. I had above 60% in all these courses.
After graduating, I was selected to do an internship at Songhai Centre, Benin Republic- An eco-friendly agricultural hub. This experience allowed me to gain valuable and practical knowledge in Climate Smart Agriculture, an area in which I would like to develop my future career. This is because global food production continue to be the single largest driver of environmental degradation and climate instability. I sharpened my critical thinking and took responsibility for several environmental projects. My internship also gave me the opportunity to meet people from different countries around the world. Eventually, I was recommended by the then Director of Songhai Centre-Prof Godfrey Nzamujo to their bilateral projects within the Nigerian Government.
I have volunteered for different environmental initiatives through Child and Green Foundation, Young African Leaders Initiative, Mandela Washington Impact Project, United State Exchange Alumni Association of Nigeria and so on. During this period, I joined the advocacy for Ogoni clean up, stop the soot campaign and tree planting in all institutions of higher learning in Rivers State, Nigeria. Lately, I engaged in the Beat Air Pollution campaign to mark this year World Environmental Day.
I am under consideration that, this program will contribute enormously to my future career plans.
At the end, I believe that the opportunity to join the Institute will be a great experience and life changing, and I am aware of the high competitiveness of this program, but I am confident that I have the ability and motivation to exceed the requirements and I will do my best to excel.

I look forward to a favourable response.

Yours sincerely

Ayoade Oluwafemi Fadoju
