What does this "rocks" mean?

When the phone calls its siren song, teen crash into the rocks instead of crashing into their beds.

When cell phones no longer exist (or are turned off for the day), teenagers won't know what to do. They will go insane.

All I can suggest is that crashing into the rocks is a metaphor for destruction. Why such a dramatic and disastrous outcome would be caused by the siren song of a phone is unclear. Furthermore, "their beds" suggests that "teen" should be plural, i.e., "teens".
