Note: By 'fall on', I mean the light rays are being 'targeted' in the water (and some may be refracted or be reflected).



2. And still considering the conditions above, would it make sense to say:


"The waters are sparkling."

Yes, if you take "sun" to mean "sunlight". I would use "sunlight".

Yes, but "waters" in this sense is poetical, and "sparkling water" means "carbonated water", so there is that to consider.
