Hello Behnazz

<Rangers are through to the knock out stages of the Champions League>

The first stage of the Champions' League is like a normal league. The teams are divided into several groups. Each team plays every other team in the group twice.

The second stage is the knock-out stage. The best teams in each group play each other. When a team loses, it is "knocked out", i.e. it doesn't play in the competition any more.

<after drawing one all at home to Inter Milan. >

This means the game took place in Glasgow ("at home"); each team scored one goal.

<Peter Loverkrand's goal in the second half secured the draw which put the light blues in second place in Group H above Porto and Artmedia Bratislava. >

It means Peter L. scored one goal, to match Inter Milan's one goal. Rangers thus made certain ("secured") the draw.

A "draw" is where each team scores the same number of goals.

<Words can't express the way I feel just now. This beats everything I've ever done">

This "is better than" everything I've ever done.

<The light blues have already fallen a massive 17 points behind Bank of Scotland Premier League leaders Celtic this season so were ecstatic about Tuesday's result. >

Celtic and Rangers play in the (Scottish) Premier League. The Bank of Scotland sponsors the Scottish Premier League. It is therefore called the "Bank of Scotland Premier League".

Celtic are the top team in that league. Rangers have 17 points less than Celtic. They are therefore a long way "behind" Celtic.

Sorry, I forgot to say: the two best teams in each group go through to the knock-out stage. In the knock-out stage, team A plays team B twice: once at A's ground, and once at B's ground. Each of these games is called a "leg". The aggregate score of the two legs determines the winner. The winners then proceed to the next round of games, until only two teams are left. These two teams then play each other in the "final" (game).
