Dear all,

Please see the following sentences and tell me whether they are correct. If incorrect, please correct them.

1) She always comes to the school late.

2) She always comes late to the school.

3) She always arrives at the school late.

4) Usually she comes late to the school.

Thenk you.

'school' is one of those words that doesn't take 'the' after 'at' or 'to', so it's 'at school' and 'to school'. I'll change that below.

1) She always comes to school late.

2) She always comes late to school.

3) She always arrives at school late.

4) Usually she comes late to school.

Now they are all correct. I'd probably use the first one. In 4) I'd put 'usually' after 'she': She usually comes late to school.

We almost always put place before time, so those with 'late' last are more natural.

She always comes [to school]place [late]time.

Is everyone [here]place [today]time?
Where did they go? They were just [in the living room]place [a minute ago]time.

CJ Sir, I understand now. Thanks a lot.

By the way, I would normally say, "She's always late for school."

Thank you.
