Dear Teachers,

1. She has been screwing up a lot lately with grades and stuff. Today her parents just found out she has been cutting herself.

- "She has been cutting herself" means "she has been using a knife to torture herself", right?

2. His mother signed him out because he was always in troubles and only got F's.

- "sign him out" means "ignore him", right?

Thanks very much to Teachers,

Stevenukd.

I'm not sure of the implement or the motivation, but the practice came to my attention while volunteering in a middle school for problem children a few years ago. The faculty refer to it as "cutting," and my understanding is that the girl was doing it in class, although I did not personally observe it.

Edit. Hmmm, I just noticed you haven't posted since February. Good luck wherever you are. [Y]
