Hi!

If a "single transfer" is a ticket of leaving (e.g. a subway single transfer), so how do we call a ticket to go and come back? Is it a "return ticket"/ "A round trip ticket" ? And is this name used for a flight trip, bus and subway?

Thank you,
Rose

Here's what I usually say and hear.
a one-way ticket.
a return ticket
a round-trip ticket

And is this name used for a flight trip, bus and subway? Yes, except my subway does not offer return tickets.

Best wishes, Clive
Hi, Clive.

Thanks. Is there any difference between an "one-way ticket" and a "single transfer" ticket? Or are they synonyms? Because I've heard that a "single transfer" is a ticket of leaving with connection.

Thanks,
Rose

Hi Clive,

Surfing on the internet I found the term "single transfer ticket". Take a look below, please:
It is in:
www.travelclubprague.cz/subway.htm

"Transfer tickets informations: (click on tickets)

transfer ticket

single transfer ticket
price: 500.- CZK ..the transfer tickets are also available to buy from the city bus drivers, price: 30 CZK."

Please, then if you could explain the difference between "single transfer ticket" and a "one-way ticket", I'd be grateful.Okay?

Best wishes,

Hi,
I really don't know.

I don't live in Prague.

Site Hint: Check out our list of pronunciation videos.
Looks like a bad translation.
In England a "one way" is also called a "single".
Neither I! So you mean that it is a specific term of that country?!

Thanks,
Rose
Hi,
Possibly, yes.
