After finishing the business, I hopped onto my car. I'd asked for directions and the attendant said the company was just two traffic lights away. Feeling better, I floored the gas and followed the directions. To my surprise, I couldn't find it anywhere. I knew it was near but wasn't anywhere to be seen. It did cross my mind to call the HR that I would be late or maybe reschedule the appointment but I just realized I didn't jot down the number. Having no choice, I started to violate traffic rules whenever I could and finally, I found a road sign that the so called map describes. And in less than 5 minutes I arrived there... at 10 sharp!

Are there any mistakes?
Thanks.

Why is "and finally, I found" not right?
I can't tell you in formal English terms why it's not right... but it didn't sound right to me. I think it was a long sentence that didn't need to be longer with "and finally". I don't know if that makes any sense to you...?
Are you saying "and" makes the sentence sound longer while " until" doesnt? If so, I agree with you. Otherwise, they are about the same in terms of number of words. Emotion: sad
Students: Are you brave enough to let our tutors analyse your pronunciation?
Yes. I think "and finally" is not necessary to say and could be summed up in "until" to wrap up the story. A few problems that a lot of people have in writing include using the word "and" too much, and writing long run-on sentences that need to be shortened or separated into more than once sentence.
Got it. Thanks again, Laura.
