Hi guys! Can anybody correct my small article? Thank you in advance.

According to Wikipedia there are more than 1.556 animal species that are currently at risk of becoming extinct. Is it in our power to somehow change this situation? Can we protect them from further extinction?

My answer to this question is: “Yes, we can”. I think we are all responsible for those animals that could become extinct because of us. In order to reduce this risk we should administer harsher punishment to those people, who didn’t respect the nature and harm it. Also, we should give people more information about the relevance and urgency of this problem and constantly educate them in order to refresh their knowledge.

Unfortunately, in reality these penal and educational processes are very slow and it will last many decades before we will see result. But the good news is that we can start saving endangered animals today. From biology lessons in the school I got to know about DNA – the encoded information about all cells in the alive organism. On Discovery Channel I saw that the work on saving animal’s DNA has been already started and in the near future it will be possible to clone and recreate extinct species.

To sum things up I would like to add that it’s very important to start thinking about these problems today, because tomorrow it may be already too late.

Hello, hooldus-- and welcome to English Forums. Your essay is pretty good. I have made a few corrections:

My answer to this question is “Yes, we can!” I think we are all responsible for the animals that could become extinct because of us. Also, we should give everyone more information about the relevance and urgency of this problem and constantly educate them in order to refresh their understanding.

Unfortunately, in reality such penal and educational processes are very slow, and it will take many decades before we see significant results. But the good news is that we can start saving endangered animals today. From biology classes in school, I have learned about DNA – the encoded information about all the cells in a living organism. On Discovery Channel, I saw that the effort to save animal DNA has already begun, and in the near future it will be possible to clone and thus recreate extinct species.

However, it is very important to start thinking about these problems today, because tomorrow may be too late
